David A. Price Architects, Inc. (DAPA) was established in 1981 as the professional
architectural practice of David A. Price, AIA, who continues to
assume personal management and design responsibility for each
project assignment. A highly qualified staff of supporting design
talent and state of the art computer assisted design (CAD) equipment
has been assembled to ensure optimum value for the design dollar.
But the key to the firm's effectiveness is the establishment and
maintenance of a close working relationship between the principal
of the firm and the client or client's representative.
DAPA has
provided architectural and planning services to a wide range of
clients in the public and private sectors, including cities, counties,
and other governmental agencies, major corporations, retail, commercial
and office building developers, recreational facility and resort
operators, land owners, investors, and other professional service
firms. The scope of services performed ranges from program analysis
and preliminary design, to the preparation of working drawings
and construction documents, as well as on site supervision of
construction.
The primary
field of activity includes:
- Church
campuses and related facilities
- Entertainment
and recreational facilities
- Resorts
and hotels
- Restaurants and retail stores
- Shopping
centers and auto malls
- Office and industrial buildings
- Business
and industrial parks
- Redevelopment,
conservation, adaptive reuse, and historic reservation
The overall
philosophy guiding the firm is that design must be both aesthetically
pleasing and economically sound. Good design is a productive and
profitable investment in itself, but it must be undertaken with
a clear understanding of the economic purposes of the project,
as well as a sensitivity to the surrounding physical environment.
It can be the deciding factor that determines locational choice
and which provides a project with a competitive edge in today's
marketplace, both in aesthetic and economic terms.
The firm has
been recognized for design excellence and is the recipient of
design awards. In addition, memberships are maintained in a variety
of professional organizations and associations to remain abreast
of activities and trends affecting design practice.
